Dates & Curriculum for Digital Feature Film Program

October 15, 2016 – June 15, 2017

•10:00 – 12:30 Monday -Thursday
•April- Feature Film Shoot (10hr day/5 days week x 4 weeks)
•May- June: Postproduction, Monday – Friday.

* 230 Lecture hours -280 Shoot/ Post hours min. – 510 hours total

* To qualify for the Digital Feature Film Progam, it is required that all students have  previous film education and/or experience, as the workshop is necessarily very intense, geared completely towards the creation of a feature film.  We would request that all those interested submit their resume and/or reels (shorts, etc).  The working language is English, so at least a basic knowledge of English is also required.

OCTOBER – Development (2 weeks)

  • Project Presentations  (Pitch)
  • Project Analysis and evaluation
  • Project Selection
  • Screenplay workshop:
    1. Develoment of definitive synopsis
    2. Begin Script Outline/ Character development


NOVEMBER – Development (4 weeks)

  • Directing: Revision- basic concepts
  • Develop Script Outline/ Characters
  • Begin Feature treatment
  • Producing: Begin “Package” development: The project
  • Cinematography/ Camera: Revision- basic concepts

 

DECEMBER – Development (3 weeks)

  • Directing: Workshop- Directing/ Directing Actors
  • Develop Script treatment
  • Begin first draft feature film script
  • Producing: Prepare “Package”
  • Develop Production Design concepts
  • Cinematography/ Camera: Begin camera/ lighting plan

 

JANUARY – Development / Preproduction (4 weeks)

  • First draft screenplay due
  • Begin  Storyboard
  • Producing: Final “Package”
  • Directing: Workshop- Directing/ Directing Actors
  • Preproduction: 1st Assistant Director:
  • Crew lists -Breakdowns -Shooting schedule
  • Producing: Final budget
  • Final Production Design artwork

FEBRUARY – Preproduction (4 weeks)

  • Polish script

  • Lock casting / Cast
  • Directing: The rehearsal process

APRIL – Production (4 weeks)

  • Shoot Digital Feature Film

 

MAY – Postproduction (4 weeks)

  • Editing:  Postproduction workshop- image
  • Sound: Postproduction workshop- sound
